I was born on May 5th in Staten Island, NY — the day Alan Shepard became the first American astronaut to travel into space and, coincidentally, Cinco de Mayo.

I proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Parche (SSN 683) from 1980 to 1984, a fast-attack espionage submarine, earning my top-secret clearance after a six-month vetting process. During my time on the Parche, I participated in two critical missions in 1981 and 1982 that contributed to ending the Cold War, earning two Presidential Unit Citations. I served as a Torpedoman, lead lookout, and helmsman, spending 3.5 months underwater without sunlight in 1981 and 4.5 months in 1982 — a record that stood for years.

After leaving the Navy in 1984, I transitioned to civilian life by attending a technical school in San Francisco, launching a 30-year career in IT. I eventually became a Program Manager for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, managing data center consolidations and large-scale implementations worth over $20 million for clients like Merck and Kaiser Permanente. I led global teams of 50–65+ resources, coordinating projects across multiple time zones and ensuring successful delivery.

Despite my IT career, I stayed connected to my roots — the family exterminating business my father founded in 1980. I helped out during busy seasons or when he was ill or on vacation, keeping the company running smoothly and honoring his legacy of hard work and customer care. Eventually, I left IT to fully embrace the family legacy, starting Bee-Gone Termite & Pest Control and growing it into a trusted name in the community.

On a personal note, I’ve shared my life with Doreen Fromage for the past 25 years — my partner, my rock, and my biggest supporter. Together, we’ve raised a wonderful daughter, Lilyanne, who is now embarking on her journey at RIT College to become an Aerospace Engineer. Watching her pursue her dreams with passion and determination is one of my greatest joys. I also have a wonderful stepdaughter and am a proud grandparent to two amazing grandsons, who bring endless joy and laughter to our lives.

In my free time, I enjoy billiards, poker, fishing, and traveling. My motto is ‘Forever Young,’ and I try to live by the words: ‘The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.’

Life has been a rich mix of service, career, family, and adventure. Whether navigating the depths of the ocean, leading global IT projects, or continuing my father’s business, I’ve always been guided by integrity, perseverance, and a passion for making a positive impact.
