GOTCC Ansell Grimm & Aaron, PC ‘Golfing Fore Heroes’ Classic on 9/11 Benefits Tunnel to Towers Foundation and Local First Responders

 Ocean Township, NJ – The Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce (GOTCC) hosted the Ansell Grimm & Aaron, PC ‘Golfing Fore Heroes’ event at Jumping Brook Country Club, Neptune on Monday, September 11, 2023. In recognition of Patriot Day, this year’s golf outing was also a fundraiser for the Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation as well as local first responders, Township of Ocean Police Department and the Asbury Park, Oakhurst and Wanamassa Fire Departments.

“With this year’s Golf Outing falling on September 11^th, A National Day of Service and Remembrance, we commemorated those we lost in the devastating terrorist attacks and showed appreciation to the brave first responders who put their lives on the line for us every day,” said Lisa Littman, Golf Committee Co-Chair.

Special guests for the day included the Township of Ocean Police Honor Guard, Sergeant Michael Longo, USMC, Ashely DiRobbio, Tunnel to Towers, Boy Scout Troop #71, Oakhurst, Elizabeth Russomanno, and Nate Bender. Prior to tee off time, the event started with the Township of Ocean Police Department Honor Guard procession, a moment of silence, pledge of allegiance, and the national anthem.

After an afternoon of golf, the attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception and buffet dinner. A second 9/11 tribute began with Boy Scout Troop #71 from Oakhurst presenting the nation’s colors and US Marine Corps Sergeant Michael Longo sharing his 9/11 story. Ashley DiRibbio spoke about the mission of Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and after a moment of silence, Nate Bender, Boy Scout Troop #70 played taps.

Contests were held for a Hole-in-One, thanks to Shrewsbury Volkswagen. Closest-to-the Pin was sponsored by our Monmouth County Commissioners, Longest Drive sponsored by Dyer’s Lumber and Clearlink Communications. This year’s $5,000 Putting Contest was made possible with Circle BMW and the NJ State PBA sponsorships. The Driving Range was underwritten by Brookdale Community College and the Putting Green was Arbus, Maybruch & Goode, LLC.
