Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce Holds Annual Executive Board Retreat and Elections

Ocean Township, NJ — The Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce (GOTCC) held its Annual Executive Board Retreat and Elections on December 16, 2025, marking both a celebration of outstanding leadership and the transition to a new Executive Board for 2026.

The Chamber proudly recognized and honored outgoing President David Kolakowski for his exceptional service and dedication to the organization. Kolakowski served as President for six years, guiding the Chamber through one of the most challenging periods in its history—the COVID-19 pandemic—when volunteer participation was at an all-time low and uncertainty was widespread.

Through steady leadership, strong relationship building, and sheer tenacity, Kolakowski not only sustained the Chamber during difficult times but positioned it for long-term success. Today, the Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce is stronger than ever, with membership at an all-time high and event attendance continuing to soar. His efforts have left a lasting and positive impact on the organization and the broader business community.

“David’s leadership during unprecedented challenges was instrumental in ensuring the Chamber not only survived, but thrived,” said Regina Longo, Executive Director. “The strength and momentum we see today are a direct result of his commitment and vision.”

During the retreat, the Chamber announced its Executive Board for 2026:

  • President: Robert Acerra
  • Vice President: Thomas Yacullo
  • Treasurer: Perry Weyser
  • Secretary: Melissa Ambrose

Incoming President Robert Acerra previously served as Secretary of the GOTCC and brings deep experience in public service and economic development. Acerra has served on the Ocean Township Town Council for ten years, including roles as Deputy Mayor and Vice Chairperson of the Economic Development Committee.

Acerra expressed his enthusiasm for the role and for continuing the Chamber’s forward momentum in partnership with our Executive Director, the new Executive Board, and the full Board of Trustees.

“I am excited to take on the role of President of this great organization,” said Acerra. “David has done such a great job moving the organization forward over the last six years. With Netflix moving in and the boom in economic development in the area, I believe there is so much the GOTCC can do for our local business community. I look forward to meeting as many of the business owners as possible during my tenure.”

The Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce looks forward to building on its recent successes and continuing its mission of representing, supporting, and promoting businesses throughout the Township of Ocean and the surrounding region.

Other topics covered during the retreat included:

  • Presentation of our year-to-date financials, showing a six-fold increase in profit over 2024.
