The grounds of the Township’s Historical Museum were buzzing with excitement as the Township of Ocean Community Celebrations and Department of Recreation presented “It’s a Wonderful Life”, the township’s annual tree lighting celebration on December 4th.
This year’s festivities also included skating, a Christmas carousel, multiple holiday crafts, marshmallow roasting, fireworks and a visit from Santa!
Santa made his grand entrance aboard the Wanamassa antique fire truck escorted by local firetrucks announcing his arrival with wailing sirens and flashing lights. The line was long but worth the wait as the children were able to sit on Santa’s lap and share their Christmas wishes as parents took photos.
Mayor John Napolitani, Former Deputy Mayor Rich Long, Council Members Robert Acerra, Dave Fisher and Margie Donlon were among the town officials joining the holiday sing along and taking photos with Santa.
The Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce, assisted by local Girl Scouts, warmed the crowd with hot chocolate and served delicious cookies and candy canes.
Congratulations to Special Events Coordinator, Jennifer Nordstrom and Department of Recreation Administrator, Mike Butrico on a job well done!
Happy Holidays Everyone from The Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce!
